While many country's have their own Google site - google.ca, google.co.uk, etc., many people from around the world still choose to use google.com. I certainly don't expect Google to show a special logo for Rememberance Day, which is the equivalent of Memorial Day in Canada, but I do find it nice that they recognize events celebrated around the world, such as Mother's Day. Don’t forget that Google’s user-base is global, and Memorial Day is a US holiday.
