That's quite a learning about blogs.
One little question

- Can we maintain multiple blogs at different locations with same content.

Say I write an article and I want to put in all my blog accounts.

Perhaps we are wrapped up in semantics or a misinterpretation here. The point I am trying to make is that having the blog integrated within your own website vs offsite (on an external blog platform) is a far better idea. This is because the content from the blog provides valuable relevance to the website when it is integrated vs offsite. In addition, an integrated blog can be better branded.

I hope that cleared up your concern.

Whether or not your website is hosted on your own server or a paid service makes no difference for search engine optimization. It does help in the long run to have your own domain name, especially if you plan to move your blog away from one service to another, which Typepad allows you to do. Typepad is very well set up for SEO.

Anildash, you are right that Typepad can work with a domain but it does not work on your own server; which I had incorrectly believed 'website' would be clear enough to portray. I believe a clarification is in order in the article.

TypePad has always supported running your blog on your own domain name — this is why if you look at blogs like Wired magazine’s or Steve Rubel’s (which are all hosted by TypePad), they appear at their own web address. So this concern doesn’t apply in the case of TypePad.
